Here is the latest site plan submitted to El Paso County. It calls for a 203,091 square foot store. The second satellite lot has been eliminated. The truck docks have been moved to the rear. A drive through pharmacy has been added at the south west corner of the building.

To produce a paper copy, download the planning commission package for the PUD rezoning request (Adobe Acrobat format, 3.3 Mbyte, 19 minutes at 28.8). The site plan is on page 57 (marked 58) of the package. If Adobe Acrobat is not installed on your computer, download a free PDF viewer from Adobe. The viewer can be used to read and print but not edit or create Powerpoint files.

Here is the prior (revised) site plan submitted to El Paso County. Note that it calls for a 186,245 square foot store rather than the 184,403 proposed before. Significant slopes are shown to the east of the building. There are about 930 parking stalls. This may be slightly less than the 5 per 1000 square foot required by the county. The full-motion access from Baptist Rd. has been removed in favor of a right-in right-out. There is now shown a filling station in lot 2, the north-west satellite lot. Lot 3 has been moved to be just east of lot 2. The road along the south edge of the property intended for access to the church and other properties to the east has been removed.

To produce a paper copy, download a higher resolution version of the revised site plan (Microsoft Powerpoint 95 format, 2.8 Mbyte, 16 minutes at 28.8). If Powerpoint is not installed on your computer, download a free Powerpoint viewer from Microsoft. The viewer can be used to read and print but not edit or create Powerpoint files.

For those interested in the evolution of the site plan, download an intermediate version discussed toward the end of 2001 with Mike Davenport, Assistant Monument Town Manager and Town Planner. Access for the church and other properties to the east of the store was proposed to be by a n. Baptist Road is projected to become a major arterial which raises questions about this part of the proposal.

Here is the original site plan as submitted to the Town of Monument for the proposed Wal-Mart on Baptist Road across from King Soopers. North is at the top of the plan. The plan is not drawn to scale. View the associated plan for short-term access via Jackson Creek Parkway. View the plan for long-term access.
