 | Status
 | On September 19, 2000, by a vote of 7-2, the County Planning Commission recommended
denial of the Struthers Ranch request for a waiver from the County's 300 year
water availability rule. During the course of this hearing, Dana
Duthie of the Donala District stated that the District may have as
little as 30 years and probably no more than 156 years of water
available to be pumped. |
 | On October 26, 2000, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously
approved the waiver request. This action cleared the way for submission of
sketch plan, rezoning request, preliminary plan, and final plat. The whole process
may take a year or more. |
 | On November 21, 2000, by a vote of 8-1, the County Planning Commission
recommended approval of the Struthers
Ranch Sketch Plan. The approval was subject to conditions and
notations including requirements that:
 |
Any residential lots on the north boundary shall be a minimum size of one
(1) acre and shall include at least a one hundred (100) foot setback from
the common property line with Chaparral Hills Subdivision. |
 |
No access through platted road easements in Chaparral Hills shall be
allowed. |
 |
Residential lots in on the north side of the
drainage swale ( Phase II ) shall be at least one-half (1/2) acre in
size. |
|
 |
On January 18, 2001, the Board of County Commissioners
unanimously approved the Struthers
Ranch Sketch Plan. The approval was subject to the conditions and
notations shown above. |
 |
Future steps include the following hearings by the
Planning Commission and then the Board of County Commissioners:
 |
Rezoning from RR-2 to Planned Unit Development (PUD) |
 |
Preliminary Plan (this hearing may be combined with
the rezoning hearing) |
 |
Final Plat |
